About the Artist
Susan Vaughan
I have been making art for most of my life. My art has moved from mostly representative to abstract, usually on larger boards without frames or glass removing boundaries and allowing the viewer to interact more intimately with the art. I appreciate abstract art as it invites personal interpretation.
For me, art is not only beautiful but meaningful when it is intended to communicate ideas we feel are important or may find difficult to express.
With each piece, I strive to see a subject with an open mind, and uniquely create a moment in time, idea, perspective or feeling . It is a recording of humanity and thus including elements of the art process are essential to each piece. Brush marks, parts uncovered or scraped away, layers, drips, raw edges are examples of the artist’s process and add to the history of the piece. They remind the viewer that the artist is on a personal journey in creating each piece.
Futura Light is a much loved font inspired by elements of Bauhaus design. Ideal for headlines, banners, logos & more, it will make your words stand out.
